Created by artist Georgiy Kurinov, The Bear’s Dream draws you into a surreal world centred around a magnificent sleeping bear. Above him, a moonlit winter forest curls around a secluded cabin, while an antlered owl watches from the branches. Below, the landscape transforms into a vivid summer wilderness filled with rushing water, glowing mushrooms, a tiny boat, and a wonderfully unexpected crowned fish.
Look closer and the dream becomes stranger still. Seasons coexist, scale loses its meaning, and familiar creatures take on an almost mythical character. Every part of the artwork invites you to wonder: what is real, and what exists only in the bear’s dream?
Back Side – Inside the Bear’s Dream
Turn the puzzle over and journey deeper into the dream with an intricate engraved world built around a magnificent tree.
Its twisting branches are filled with woodland creatures, wandering travellers, glowing lanterns, birds, owls, a moose, beaver, wild boar—and even the dreaming bear himself. At the heart of the tree sits a tiny cabin, echoing the mysterious house found on the front of the puzzle.
Follow the branches downward and the forest gradually transforms. Boats drift among tangled roots, fish swim through the scene, mushrooms emerge from the woodland floor, and the roots descend into an enchanting underwater world.
Look carefully and you’ll discover connections between the two sides—the bear, cabin, owl, forest, river, fish and other details appearing as fragments of the same mysterious dream.
With two completely different sides to explore, The Bear’s Dream is more than a puzzle—it is an invitation to enter a strange and beautiful world where nature, imagination and dreams intertwine.

I really enjoyed putting this puzzle together--on both sides! It was really fun.
The art here is not only the illustration of a Cornish seaside village, the colours and detail of which are charming, the beauty of this puzzle is also the shapes, construction and fit of the pieces. I have never considered making a puzzle from the reverse. I am intending to have a go with this one. The carved whimsies are extraordinary as is the design. Surpassed expectations.
