Olga Popugaeva and Dmitriy Nepomniashiy  are accomplished illustrators and members of the St. Petersburg Union of Artists, known for their richly detailed, imaginative artwork and distinctive collaborative style. 

Both studied art in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) and later attended the V. A. Serov Leningrad Art College, where they studied decorative graphic arts. They married in 1993 and have been creating illustrations together ever since—quite literally, “with four hands.”

Their creative process is a true collaboration: Dmitriy develops the concept, composition, and graphic structure, while Olga brings each illustration to life through colour.

Together, they have illustrated more than 80 children's books, including works by Hans Christian Andersen, Charles Perrault, the Brothers Grimm, Alexander Pushkin, Wilhelm Hauff, Gianni Rodari, and many others. 

Their art is filled with expressive characters, intricate details, playful humour, and a wonderful sense of storytelling—qualities beautifully showcased in their imaginative interpretation of Puss in Boots for Palmaris Puzzles.
