SERENA HURLOCK
Serena is a popular artist who paints from her hometown of Padstow, a small fishing harbour on the north coast of Cornwall, in the UK.
As a child, she was always drawing little houses and people, and this soon grew into a lifelong passion. By the age of 16, she was reproducing her original paintings of Cornish scenes as prints and cards, selling them in local shops and art galleries.
More than 30 years later, Serena's art has become closely associated with Cornwall and Cornish holidays. Her paintings, prints and cards have found their way into homes around the world.
There is always something new to discover in her pictures. Serena loves adding humour, character and plenty of activity, creating scenes that reward a closer look. She paints from a seagull's perspective so that she can encompass the whole area, often moving buildings around to capture a memory of a place. Just don't use them as a map!
Her distinctive style has led some to describe her as a "happy Lowry".
